Mick Matthews joined Kent Police in April 1982 and had various postings in a twenty-four year career with that force, including SIO, Head of Intelligence and BCU Commander during which time he was seconded to the South Australian Police to assist in the development of Intelligence led policing models. He joined Gloucestershire Constabulary in October 2005 as Assistant Chief Constable responsible for criminal justice, community partnerships and contact management. He is currently ACC Operations and is responsible for all operational and crime departments. He also sits on the ACPO Drugs Committee and is one of the ACC members of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Assessment and Planning Group for post conflict countries.
Mick has recently returned from an international deployment in East Timor advising the local Government on its National Security Policy. He has completed a Masters Degree in Criminal Justice Studies and holds a Diploma in Management Studies.
