Detective Chief Inspector Garry Clarke joined the Police Service in 1984 and is currently in charge of the PSNI Drug Squad. In 1988 he was appointed to the first Child Abuse and Adult Sexual Offences Investigation Unit set up in Northern Ireland and subsequently spent 12 years working in this specialist area at various ranks. He has also worked in District CID, the Serious and Organised Crime Unit, Professional Standards Department and just prior to his appointment to the Drug Squad he was Staff Officer to the Chief Constable, Sir Hugh Orde.

Garry holds a BA (Hons) in Business and Management from Queens University, Belfast.
