Dr Daniel Silverstone

Dr Daniel Silverstone is currently a principle lecturer at the University of Portsmouth, where he has been based for the last seven years. Previously, he undertook his PhD at the London School of Economics on the subject of drug use within the night-time economy, which is currently being turned into a book to be published this year. He has recently worked for the Home Office and co-authored the RDS study Gun Crime: the Market in and use of illegal firearms. Over the last two years he has been working for the Foreign and Commonwealth office on the subject of Vietnamese organised crime. Daniel has also been an advisor on this subject in regards to police investigations and is currently a member of the Independent Advisory group for Southwark. He is a regular contributor to the BBC on the subject of organised crime..
