Nigel graduated from the University of Liverpool in 1984 with a
B.Eng Honours Degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science, and
subsequently studied for an M.B.A with the Open University,
graduating in 1996.
Prior to joining the FSS, Nigel has had extensive senior management
experience in manufacturing and operations management. He has
led a number of significant company restructuring and efficiency
improvement programmes, always aimed at providing significant
improvements in customer service whilst improving organisational
profitability.
He joined the FSS in 2005 to lead the Toxicology team at the Chorley
facility and has since progressed to being the General Manager at this
location.
In 2008 he was appointed as National Operations Manager
responsible for the facilities in the North of England and in addition is
accountable for the migration of activities from the current structure
to the proposed national delivery model. His main focus will be
the delivery of the National Drugs Business stream aimed at creating
a flexible and responsive drugs solution, drawing on the FSS' capacity
and experience in the area to provide a focused solution supporting
the increasing drugs intelligence requirements.
