Paul has been Chief Executive of the NTA since its creation in 2001.

As Chief Executive, Paul advises Ministers and senior officials in the Department of Health and the Home Office about all issues to do with the provision of drug treatment in England.

He is the lead advisor to the NTA Board which is responsible for shaping the NTA's strategic direction and leads the Senior Management Team in implementing the agency's work programme.

Prior to joining the NTA, Paul worked for the Probation Service for over twenty years.
