Martin Barnes is Chief Executive of DrugScope and was previously Director of the Child Poverty Action Group. DrugScope is the UK's leading independent centre of information and expertise on drugs and the national membership organisation for organisations and individuals working in the drug and related sectors.

Martin is a member of the Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs (ACMD) and the ACMD's Technical Committee. He is also a member of the Criminal Justice Council and the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) Drugs Committee.

Martin is a trustee of Family Action (formerly the Family Welfare Association) and a member of the Advisory Board for Transact, the national forum promoting financial inclusion.
