Robin Murray is Head of the Division of Psychological Medicine and Psychiatry in the Institute of Psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital, London. Robins special interest is in the understanding and treatment of psychotic illnesses, and he runs a clinical team for people with these illnesses. He is the Joint Editor of Psychological Medicine and serves on the editorial boards of several other journals including Schizophrenia Research and Schizophrenia Bulletin.

Professor Murray, who has authored numerous research articles, book chapters and 10 books, received his medical degree from the University of Glasgow in Scotland, and also trained in Internal Medicine there. He then studied psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital in London and has remained there ever since, apart from 1 year as MRC Fellow at the National Institutes of Health in Washington.
