Elizabeth Burton-Phillips has been a teacher for over 30 years, having gained her original qualification from the Institute of Education, University of Liverpool. As a mature teacher, she achieved distinction in her Masters Degree in Education from Oxford University. She is currently Head of Department at one of the most successful girl's schools in the country.
Since the death of her son as a result of his Heroin addiction, Elizabeth has been invited to speak at many venues all over the country on drugs issues. She is now a member of the Federation of Drug and Alcohol Professionals, a trained volunteer for her support group 'Crack It' and also a spokesperson for Families for Frank, the National Drugs Helpline and Information Service. She hopes that her book will serve as a warning to all parents, to all children and their families - drugs can and do kill.
